Cache Invalidation Adapter for WebSphere Application Server

Bookmark and Share Cache Invalidation Adapter for WAS
is an adapter for WAS's dynamic cache that allows it to send invalidations for content that is cached on the Akamai® network. Most Web content today is dynamic and highly personalized, making it difficult to cache with traditional means. Both WAS's dynamic cache and Akamai's EdgeSuite® service provide methods for caching this content. Because of the nature of the content, it is important to be able to remove it from a cache on demand so that incorrect or stale content is not served to the user.
WebSphere Application Server's dynamic cache can be configured to automatically trigger invalidations. For example, when a log-out command is issued for User A, the dynamic cache can be configured to automatically invalidate all of User A's content. Cache Invalidation Adapter for WAS allows these invalidation messages to also be propagated to the Akamai network and invalidate content there as well. Invalidation configuration has to be done only once.
